Frequently Asked Questions

Are you accepting new clients?

Each month, I add a small number of new clients to my hourly financial consulting program. If you’re interested in working with me, please email me to find out if we would be a good fit for working together.

Do you recommend any other financial planners?

Sure thing. I personally know and respect all of these planners and would trust them with my own money. Each has their own unique approach, so make sure to find the right fit for your needs. (Recommended financial planners are listed in alphabetical order. Take the time to check out all of their websites.) You can also use the Garrett Planning Network or GuideVine to search a database of financial planners.

What is your favorite personal finance book?

Hand’s down, it’s The Millionaire Next Door. I’m a firm believer that being wealthy doesn’t mean owning a bunch of stuff–it means having money in the bank (and a life full of adventure).

Do you have your own book?

I’m working on it–and a few other exciting projects! Connect with me on Facebook or sign up for my mailing list to stay up-to-date with what’s going on around here.

Would you be willing to speak about money stuff at my event/office/college/etc?

Of course–it’s one of my favorite things to do. I have various financial seminars and workshops for you to choose from, or I am happy to work with you to create a custom presentation for your event. Please send me an email to find out about my current availability.

Why/how do you travel so much?

Financial planning isn’t just about saving for retirement, it’s also about spending money on the things that make you happy. Travel is important to me, so I prioritize it in my budget. If you’re interested in traveling more, reconfiguring your spending or otherwise changing the way you think about money, I’m happy to help.

I have a question that isn’t listed here. What should I do?

Send me an email and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
